Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 22/10/26
The short version
This summary is here to help you read the full terms. The full terms below are what count.
- This website, our free Marriage Diagnostic call and our coaching program are provided by Institute of Personal Development Limited, a Hong Kong company trading as The 4-Room Connection Method.
- Part A applies to everyone who uses this website, applies for a call or joins our emails or texts. Part B applies if you join the program. Part C applies to everyone.
- Our calls, by phone or video, are recorded. By booking or joining a call, you agree to be recorded.
- If you join the program on a call, you agree to these Program Terms again on the recorded call. That spoken agreement is a binding contract.
- Program fees are not refundable, except under our Money-Back Guarantee (clause 19) or where the law requires a refund.
- This is coaching. It is not therapy, counselling or crisis support, and we can't promise how your spouse, partner or family will respond.
- These terms are governed by Hong Kong law. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration in Hong Kong, not in court, and claims can't be brought as a class action. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days (clause 32).
Part A: Using our website
1. Who we are
This website, 4roomconnectionmethod.com (the "site"), is operated by Institute of Personal Development Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong (Business Registration Number 71559137), of Office 4, 10/F, Kwan Chart Tower, 6 Tonnochy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, trading as The 4-Room Connection Method ("we", "us", "our"). "You" means you, the person using the site or our services.
You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Accepting these terms
These terms are a legal agreement between you and us. You accept them when you do any of the following:
- use the site;
- submit an application or any other form on the site;
- book or attend a call with us;
- subscribe to our emails, including The Titan Letter, or our text messages; or
- join our coaching program.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book a call.
We may update these terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page with a new "last updated" date. The version on this page when you use the site applies to that use. If you have joined the program, the version you agreed to when you enrolled applies to your program, unless you agree in writing to a later version.
3. Who can use the site
You must be 18 or older to use the site, apply for a call or join the program. You may use the site only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Sharing login information can result in access being taken away with no refund if you joined a program.
4. The free Marriage Diagnostic call
- The call is free and you are under no obligation to join anything.
- Submitting an application doesn't guarantee a call. We may decline or cancel any application or booking, for example if the program isn't the right fit for your situation.
- Please give accurate information in your application. We rely on it to prepare for your call.
- If you can't make your call, please reschedule using the link in your booking confirmation or by emailing us. If you miss a call without notice, we may not offer another.
- The call is a conversation about your situation and whether our program fits. It isn't coaching, therapy or advice, and you shouldn't make any important decision based only on what is said on it.
5. Call recordings
We record our calls, whether by phone or video (such as Zoom/Google Meet). This includes your Marriage Diagnostic call, any follow-up call and coaching calls. We record calls:
- to keep an accurate record of what was discussed and agreed, including your agreement to join the program and your payment terms;
- for legal purposes, including resolving any dispute or chargeback;
- to deliver and improve our coaching; and
- to train our team.
By booking, joining or staying on a call with us, you consent to the call being recorded. We will also remind you at the start of the call. If you don't want to be recorded, tell us before the call. We may then be unable to hold the call or enrol you in the program.
We never use a recording of you in our marketing without your consent, which you can give verbally. Our Privacy Policy explains how we store recordings and how long we keep them.
6. Emails, phone calls and text messages
Emails. If you subscribe to The Titan Letter or apply for a call, we'll send you emails about your application and booking, and our weekly insights and information about our programs. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Phone calls. By giving us your phone number, you agree that we may call you at that number about your application, your booking and our program.
Text messages. By giving us your mobile number when you apply or book a call, you agree to receive automated text messages from The 4-Room Connection Method about your application and booking, including call reminders and follow-ups after a call. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also email us. Mobile carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We don't share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing. Our Privacy Policy has more detail.
7. Coaching, not therapy
Everything we provide, on the site, on our calls, in our emails and in the program, is coaching and education. It is not therapy, counselling, psychology, psychiatry, medical care or crisis support, and it is not medical, legal or financial advice. Kody Steddy and our coaches don't hold a licence in those professions, and the professional rules that apply to licensed practitioners don't apply to our services. If you're working with a therapist, counsellor, doctor or lawyer, keep doing so. Nothing we provide asks you to stop.
If you or anyone in your home is in danger, contact your local emergency services now. Our calls, messages and any member community are not monitored around the clock and are not a crisis service. These numbers are for reference only, and we cannot ensure correctness.

8. Results and testimonials
Results vary by individual and depend on your own effort and circumstances. Testimonials are real clients describing their own experience, not a promise that you will get the same result. This program addresses your own growth, mindset, and skills; it does not guarantee any specific response from a spouse, partner, or family member, as their choices are outside our control. This coaching is educational and strategic. It is not a substitute for licensed therapy, marital counseling, or crisis mental health services, and it is not medical, legal, or financial advice. If you or anyone in your home is in danger, contact your local emergency services now.
The clients who appear in our testimonials were not paid, discounted or given free coaching for them.
9. Our content
The site and everything on it, including text, videos, graphics, logos, the 4-Room Connection Method and its frameworks, are owned by us or by Kody Steddy, who licenses them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the site and print or download a page for your own personal use. You may not copy, republish, sell, adapt, or teach our content, use it to build a competing product or service, or use it to train any artificial intelligence system, without our written permission.
"The 4-Room Connection Method" and "The Titan Letter" are our trading names and marks. You are not allowed to use them, or anything confusingly similar, without our written permission.
10. How you use the site
When you use the site, our forms, our calls or any of our services, you agree not to:
- break any law, or help anyone else to;
- harass, threaten, abuse or deceive anyone, including our team;
- give false information, or apply or book on someone else's behalf without their permission;
- post or send anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene or that infringes someone else's rights;
- collect information about other people, including email addresses, without their consent;
- send spam, advertising or chain messages;
- upload viruses or anything that could harm the site or other people's devices; or
- try to access parts of the site or our systems that aren't open to you, or interfere with the site working.
We may suspend or end your access to the site or our services if you break these rules.
11. Links and other services
The site uses and links to services run by other companies, such as our booking calendar, video call, payment and advertising providers. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services. We don't control and aren't responsible for other websites, and a link isn't an endorsement.
This site is not part of, or endorsed by, Meta (Facebook or Instagram), Google (including YouTube), TikTok or X.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information, including the sensitive information you may share about your relationship. It forms part of these terms.
Part B: Program Terms (if you join our coaching program)
Part B, together with Parts A and C, is the agreement between you and us for our coaching program (the "Program Terms"). We publish it here so you can read it before your call. Please do.
13. How you join, and our agreement
Our program is only offered on a call, after we've talked about your situation. The price, your payment option and your payment dates are discussed and agreed on that call.
If you decide to join, we'll ask you on the recorded call to confirm that you agree to these Program Terms and to the price, payment option and payment dates we've discussed. Your spoken agreement on the recorded call creates a binding contract between you and us, on these Program Terms. Making your first payment also confirms that you accept them. The date you agree is your "Enrolment Date".
After the call, we'll email you a confirmation of your price, payment option and payment dates (your "Enrolment Confirmation"). We may also ask you to sign a written copy of the agreement electronically. The written copy contains these Program Terms. If a document you sign differs from this page, the signed document applies.
If you were told anything on the call that isn't in these Program Terms or your Enrolment Confirmation, such as a different price, payment arrangement or an extra inclusion, please tell us in writing within 48 hours of the call so we can confirm it in writing. Otherwise, it doesn't form part of our agreement.
14. The program
The program is The 4-Room Connection Method, a 24-week coaching program delivered online in four phases:
- Phase 1: Stop the Bleeding (Week 1)
- Phase 2: Build the Man Who Can Hold the 4 Rooms (Weeks 2 to 6)
- Phase 3: The 4-Room Method, Applied (Weeks 7 to 12)
- Phase 4: Make It Hold (Weeks 13 to 24)
Unless your Enrolment Confirmation says otherwise, the program includes:
- coaching calls: weekly in weeks 1 to 12 and fortnightly in weeks 13 to 24, from your start date (the "Live Coaching Period");
- messaging between calls with Kody Steddy during the Live Coaching Period, in business hours, with a reply within one business day;
- the program materials: video lessons, guides, frameworks, scripts, templates and worksheets (the "Materials"); and
- 12 months' access to the online program platform from your start date, including any updates to the Materials we release in that time (the "Access Period").
How coaching is delivered. Coaching calls are one-to-one with Kody Steddy or a coach he has trained, in a small group, or a mix of these. Your Enrolment Confirmation tells you which applies to you. We re-run your 4-Room diagnosis at week 12 and week 24, so you can see what has moved. If your program includes group calls or access to an online member community, the rules in clauses 23 to 25 apply to them as well. We decide how and on which platforms the program is delivered.
What isn't included. The program doesn't include therapy, or medical, legal or financial advice. Later in the program you can choose to invite your wife or partner to join one of your calls, but only if you want to and she's willing. It is never required, and we never contact your spouse, partner or family ourselves. Anything not listed above or in your Enrolment Confirmation isn't included.
Schedule. We'll agree your call times with you, or give you the group call schedule, before your start date. If you miss a scheduled call without giving us at least 24 hours' notice, we don't have to reschedule it. Where a call is recorded and shared, you can watch the recording. Watching a recording doesn't count as attending the call for the Money-Back Guarantee (clause 19). The Live Coaching Period and Access Period aren't extended for missed calls or for time when your access is paused.
15. Changes to the program
We may update, reorder or improve the Materials, change call times with reasonable notice, or move the program to a different platform, as long as the program you receive is not materially less than what's described in clause 14. If Kody Steddy can't lead one of your calls, we'll reschedule it or have a coach we've selected lead it. If we can't deliver a material part of the program, we'll tell you, and you can choose between a reasonable alternative we offer or a refund of the part of your fees that covers what wasn't delivered.
16. You're enrolling on your own
You are enrolling on your own. This agreement is between you and us only. Your spouse or partner is not a party to it, is not asked to take part, attend, consent or pay, and does not need to be told that you've enrolled. What you share with them, and when, is your decision. We will only ever contact you, using the contact details you give us, and we will never contact your spouse, partner or family.
17. Who the program is for
By joining, you confirm that:
- you are 18 or older;
- you are married or in a long-term committed relationship, or you are separated or divorced and wish to rebuild or prepare for your next relationship;
- you are not in a serious mental health crisis or addiction crisis that would affect your ability to take part in and complete the program; and
- everything you told us in your application and on the call is true.
18. Fees and payment
Your fee. Your program fee, payment option and payment dates are those agreed on your recorded call and set out in your Enrolment Confirmation. All amounts are in United States dollars (US$) unless your Enrolment Confirmation says otherwise.
Payment options. You can pay in full, by a fixed payment plan, or through a third-party financing provider, as offered on your call.
Payment plans. A payment plan spreads the cost of the whole program. It isn't a month-to-month membership or a subscription you can cancel. By choosing a payment plan, you authorise us to charge the card or account you gave us each payment on its due date, until the plan is paid. You can change the card by emailing us. If you stop taking part in the program, the remaining payments are still due, except as set out in clauses 19 and 20 or where the law says otherwise.
Financing. If you pay through a financing provider, your loan is a separate agreement between you and that provider, on its terms. The provider decides whether to approve you. We don't give credit advice. Your repayments to the provider continue under your loan agreement even if you stop taking part in the program. If you become entitled to a refund from us, we may pay it to the provider to reduce or close your loan.
If a payment fails. We'll tell you and try again. If a payment is still unpaid 7 days after its due date, we may pause your access to calls and the program until it's paid. If a payment is more than 30 days overdue and you haven't agreed a solution with us in writing, we may end this agreement under clause 20, and the whole unpaid balance of your fee becomes due. We may charge interest on amounts more than 30 days overdue at 1.5% a month, or the highest rate the law allows if that is lower, and recover our reasonable costs of collecting them.
Currency, fees and taxes. Your bank or card issuer may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees. Those fees are yours. Our fees don't include any tax that may apply in your country. If a tax applies, you're responsible for it.
19. Refunds and our Money-Back Guarantee
Program fees are not refundable, including if you change your mind, your circumstances change, or you stop taking part, unless you complete the program fully and claim our Money-Back Guarantee under this clause, or a refund is due under clause 15 or 20 or under a law that can't be excluded.
Our Money-Back Guarantee
"Do the work — attend all the calls, complete all the modules, apply what you're taught — and if you do that and still don't feel it was worth it, tell me within a week of finishing week 12, and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked."
What "do the work" means. You qualify for the Money-Back Guarantee if, in weeks 1 to 12 of your Live Coaching Period, you:
- attended every scheduled coaching call live, or rescheduled any you couldn't attend with at least 24 hours' notice and attended the new time (watching a recording doesn't count as attending);
- completed every lesson, exercise and homework task in Phases 1 to 3, each within 14 days after it was released to you; and
- applied what you were taught, and took part openly on your calls and in your homework.
You must also be up to date with your payments. Any bonus lessons and Phase 4 (weeks 13 to 24) aren't required for the guarantee. We check these requirements against our attendance and platform records.
How to claim. Email [email protected] with the subject line "Money-Back Guarantee request" within 7 days after the end of week 12 (12 weeks after your start date). You don't need to give a reason for not feeling it was worth it, though feedback is always appreciated.
How refunds are paid. If you qualify, we'll refund everything you've paid us for the program within 14 days, to the payment method you used (or to your financing provider under clause 18). Any remaining payments are cancelled, and your access to the program ends when the refund is paid.
Your other rights. The Money-Back Guarantee is in addition to any rights you have under consumer law where you live. It doesn't replace or reduce them.
20. Ending the agreement
If you stop. You can stop taking part at any time by emailing us. Your access continues until the end of your Access Period unless this agreement has ended. Payments still due remain due (clause 18).
If you seriously breach this agreement. We may end this agreement by email if you seriously breach it, for example by sharing the Materials or your login, recording or sharing what other members say, abusing or harassing a coach or member, filing a chargeback in breach of clause 21, or failing to pay. Where the breach can be fixed, we'll first ask you in writing to fix it within 7 days. If we end the agreement under this paragraph, your access ends immediately, fees you've paid aren't refunded, and any unpaid balance of your fee becomes due, to the extent the law allows.
If the program isn't suitable for you. If something in clause 17 stops being true, or we reasonably decide that what you're dealing with needs a licensed professional rather than coaching, we'll tell you directly and may pause or end your participation. If we end this agreement for that reason, we'll refund the part of the fees you've paid that covers the remaining weeks of your Live Coaching Period, and cancel any remaining payments. If something in clause 17 wasn't true when you joined, the previous paragraph applies instead.
If we can't deliver. If we stop delivering the program for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the part of your fees that covers what wasn't delivered.
What continues. The clauses on confidentiality, the Materials, privacy, limits on liability, disputes and any money owed continue after this agreement ends.
21. Talk to us before disputing a charge
If you have a concern about a payment, email us first at [email protected], and use the refund process in clause 19 if it applies. You agree not to dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer (a "chargeback") for fees you agreed to pay without first contacting us and giving us 14 days to resolve it.
If you file a chargeback without doing this, or for a payment you agreed to on the recorded call, it is a serious breach of this agreement. We may pause or end your access, and we'll give your bank or card issuer the evidence of our agreement, including the call recording, these Program Terms, your Enrolment Confirmation and records of your participation. If the chargeback is decided in our favour, or you withdraw it, the amount stays due along with our reasonable costs of recovering it. This clause doesn't remove any right you have under the law or your card issuer's rules that can't be excluded.
22. Your part
Results come from doing the work. Plan for “at least” 3 to 5 hours a week: attending your coaching call, working through the lessons, and practising what you learn between calls. You agree to take part honestly, be open to feedback and give us accurate information about your situation.
You decide what you do with what you learn, and when. We give you a method and coaching. You choose how to apply it with your spouse or partner, your family and anyone else. You're responsible for your own decisions and actions, and for your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, and we aren't responsible for how other people respond.
23. Confidentiality
We keep your information confidential. We'll only share what you tell us: with your permission; with people who help us deliver the program, who must also keep it confidential; if the law requires it; or if we reasonably believe someone is at serious risk of harm.
You keep the program confidential. The program, its Materials and your login are for you alone. You may not share, copy, sell, publish, record, teach or adapt the Materials, share your login, or use the Materials to build a competing program, during or after the program.
Other members' privacy. If your program includes group calls or a member community, what other members share there is private to them. You may not record, screenshot or transcribe group calls or community posts (including with AI note-taking tools), or share anything that could identify another member. This applies during and after the program.
Nothing in this clause stops you sharing your own honest opinion of the program, or reporting anything to a regulator or the police.
24. Group calls and community conduct
If your program includes group calls or access to a member community, you agree to:
- treat every member and coach with respect;
- speak about your spouse, partner and family with respect, even when things are hard;
- not sell, promote or recruit;
- not post anything abusive, threatening, hateful or sexually explicit; and
- not give other members medical, legal or financial advice.
We may remove posts, and pause or remove a member who breaks these rules. Serious or repeated breaches are handled under clause 20.
25. Recordings of coaching calls
Coaching calls are recorded, as explained in clause 5. If your program includes group calls, recordings of them may be shared with other members on the program platform. You can keep your camera off, use your first name only and ask questions in the chat. Recordings of one-to-one calls are shared only with you, if at all.
26. Testimonials and feedback
Near the end of the program, and about 90-180 days after it, we may ask you about what's changed. We may use your feedback and results to improve the program, and in our marketing without anything that identifies you. We'll only use your name, image, voice or video, or anything else that identifies you, with your consent, which you can give verbally and can withdraw for future use at any time. Saying no doesn't affect your program or your Money-Back Guarantee. Anything you say for a testimonial must be your true and honest opinion.
27. The Materials belong to us
We, or Kody Steddy, who licenses them to us, own the Materials, the 4-Room Connection Method and everything else we provide in the program, including all copyright and other intellectual property. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Materials for your own use during your Access Period, plus any downloads we give you to keep. We may end that licence if this agreement ends under clause 20. You own what you write and say in the program, and you allow us to use it inside the program so the program can run.
Part C: Terms for everyone
28. Our responsibility to you
The site. We provide the site and its free content "as is". We try to keep it accurate and available, but we don't promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for any particular purpose.
The program. We'll deliver the program with reasonable care and skill. We can't promise any particular result, and we don't promise any specific response from your spouse, partner or family, because their choices are theirs.
Limits. To the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of income, profit, business opportunity or reputation;
- we aren't liable for the decisions you make or the actions you take, or for how anyone else responds to them; and
- our total liability to you for everything relating to these terms, the site and the program is limited to the fees you paid us for the program in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you haven't joined the program.
These limits also protect our directors, employees, coaches and contractors, including Kody Steddy.
Your rights under consumer law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under consumer protection law that can't lawfully be excluded, restricted or changed, or any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit. If anything in these terms conflicts with those rights, those rights apply.
29. Your responsibility to us
You agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal costs, that result from you breaking the law, sharing or misusing the Materials or confidential information, or anything unlawful you post or send through the site or the program.
30. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute about them, the site or the program, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
31. If there's a problem, talk to us first
If you're unhappy with anything, email [email protected] with the details. We'll reply within 5 business days and try to resolve it with you directly. Either of us may start arbitration under clause 32 only if we haven't resolved the dispute within 30 days of that email.
32. Binding arbitration, and no court or class actions
In short: disputes are decided by binding arbitration in Hong Kong, not in court, and claims can't be brought as a class action. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days.
Arbitration: Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these terms, the site, our calls or the program, including any question about their existence, validity, breach or termination, will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) under the HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules in force when the notice of arbitration is submitted. The seat of arbitration is Hong Kong. There will be one arbitrator. The arbitration will be in English, and hearings may be held by video. The law of this arbitration clause is Hong Kong law. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding, and can be enforced in any court with jurisdiction. The arbitrator may award reasonable legal costs to the party that wins.
You give up the right to go to court. By agreeing to these terms, you and we each give up the right to have a dispute decided in court, including by a judge or jury, except as set out in this clause.
No class actions. You and we each bring claims only in our own name. Neither of us will bring, or take part as a plaintiff or class member in, any class, collective or representative action, and an arbitrator can't combine more than one person's claims.
What isn't covered. Either of us may ask a court for an urgent order to stop misuse of the Materials or of confidential information. Nothing in this clause stops you from contacting or complaining to a government regulator.
Your right to opt out. You can opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of the day you first accept these terms (or, if you've joined the program, within 30 days of your Enrolment Date), with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" and your full name. Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these terms. If you opt out, disputes will be decided by the courts of Hong Kong, which will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Where the law says otherwise. If a consumer protection law where you live says that you can't be required to arbitrate a particular claim, or gives you a right to bring that claim in your local courts that can't be excluded, that law applies to that claim, and the rest of this clause still applies. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim goes to court in Hong Kong, not to arbitration.
33. General
- Whole agreement. These terms, our Privacy Policy and, if you join the program, your Enrolment Confirmation and any agreement you sign with us, are the whole agreement between us. They replace anything else said or written before, except anything confirmed in writing under clause 13. This doesn't limit any liability the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
- Transfer. Your place in the program is personal to you and can't be transferred. We may transfer our rights and obligations to a related company or to a business that takes over the program, as long as your rights aren't reduced. If we do, we'll tell you by email, using the details you've given us.
- Events outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a platform outage, serious illness or natural disaster. If one happens, we'll tell you, reschedule what we can, and clause 15 applies to anything we can't deliver.
- If part of these terms isn't valid. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it applies to the minimum extent possible, and the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Notices and signing electronically. We'll send notices to the email address you gave us. You can send notices to [email protected]. Agreements made by email, electronic signature or online checkbox have the same effect as a signed paper agreement.
- Contact. Institute of Personal Development Limited, Office 4, 10/F, Kwan Chart Tower, 6 Tonnochy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Email: [email protected].
